The 2nd BREATH Call is currently open and offers 24-month Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships at CIC biomaGUNE. We are currently looking for candidates for the following four research topics:
- Cryopreservation of 3D tissue models incorporating SERS sensors
Supervisor: Luis Liz-Marzán (llizmarzan@cicbiomagune.es) – BioNanoPlasmonics Laboratory
Relevant backgrounds include plasmonics, nanoparticles, SERS, biomaterials, 3D tissue models and tumour biology. - Next-generation glycomic biomarkers for longitudinal monitoring of chronic inflammation
Supervisor: Niels Reichardt (nreichardt@cicbiomagune.es) – Glycotechnology Lab
Particularly relevant for researchers working in glycomics, mass spectrometry, biomarker development, analytical chemistry, inflammation and precision medicine. - Carbon nanodots as multifunctional platforms for catalysis and bioimaging
Supervisor: Maurizio Prato (mprato@cicbiomagune.es, lcardo@cicbiomagune.es) – Carbon Bionanotechnology Lab
Relevant expertise includes organic chemistry, carbon nanomaterials, nanotechnology, photocatalysis and bioimaging. - Functional mechanisms of recovery after spinal cord injury
Supervisor: Pedro Ramos Cabrer (pramos@cicbiomagune.es) – Magnetic Resonance Imaging Lab
Particularly suitable for researchers with backgrounds in MRI, fMRI, neuroimaging, neuroscience, brain connectivity, neuroplasticity and spinal cord injury.
These fellowships are expected to indicatively start in June 2027 and offer researchers the opportunity to develop their research careers within an international and interdisciplinary environment.
If any of these topics match the research interests and expertise of researchers in your network, we encourage them to review the eligibility criteria and application requirements on the BREATH website and, if eligible, contact the corresponding supervisor directly to express their interest and discuss a well-considered research proposal. This initial exchange with the potential supervisor is an important opportunity to explore the scientific fit and further develop their ideas before submitting an application.
