Projektübersicht

The broad goal of the proposed research is to investigate potential of dynamic adaptive meshing for direct numerical simulation (DNS) of turbulence aiming at large Reynolds numbers and complex flow configurations occurring in engineering. Few, general purpose, numerical programs based on finite volume technique will be used to implement and test dynamic adaptive meshing for reduction computer storage and computation time by simulating number of canonical turbulent flows (Daschiel et al. 2013, 2014; Frohnapfel et al. 2007).
