FAU/TRENAL: Researcher mobility grants to/from Yale and UCL

TRENAL (“Translational kidney research – from physiology to clinical application”) is an interdisciplinary network project that aims at leveraging the achievements of basic kidney research and translating them into novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. TRENAL unites nephrologists, physiologists, nephropathologists and basic researchers from FAU, Yale University, University College London (UCL) and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Light (MPL). TRENAL is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The call for different TRENAL mobility grants is now open:

TRENAL Grants for postdoctoral researchers from FAU/Universitätsklinikum Erlangen/MPL
TRENAL gives postdoctoral researchers currently working at FAU/ Universitätsklinikum Erlangen/MPL the opportunity to join a research group at YALE or UCL for a period of up to six months.
The research groups involved in TRENAL are listed here. Suggestions for additional research groups/laboratories can be brought forward by the applicant. The research should focus on the fields covered by the TRENAL project.
The stay should start, at the latest, in September 2017.Awardees will receive a travel and accommodation cost refund while working at YALE/UCL.

TRENAL Grants for postdoctoral researchers from YALE /UCL
TRENAL gives postdoctoral researchers currently working at YALE or UCL the opportunity to join a research group at FAU/ Universitätsklinikum Erlangen for a period of up to six months.
The research groups involved in TRENAL are listed here. Suggestions for additional research groups/laboratories can be brought forward by the applicant. The research should focus on the fields covered by the TRENAL project. The stay should start, at the latest, in September 2017.
Awardees will receive a travel allowance (125 EUR for UCL researchers, 700 EUR for Yale researchers) and a monthly stipend of 2000 EUR while working at FAU/ Universitätsklinikum Erlangen/MPL.

TRENAL Grants for summer internships for students from YALE/UCL
TRENAL gives students enrolled at YALE or UCL the opportunity to join a research group at FAU/ Universitätsklinikum Erlangen for a summer internship.
The research groups involved in TRENAL are listed here. Suggestions for additional research groups/laboratories can be brought forward by the applicant. The research should focus on the fields covered by the TRENAL project.
Awardees will receive a travel allowance (125 EUR for UCL students, 700 EUR for Yale students).

As part of the application please submit your CV and project outline. They should be sent to Felix Knauf  by February 28th. Researchers or students who are interested in this opportunity, but have not yet identified a research group they would like to work with, are invited to contact Dr. Knauf for advice before submitting their application.
