Branco Weiss Fellowship 2017 for postdocs hosted by ETH Zurich: deadline January 15, 2017
Society in Science – The Branco Weiss Fellowship – is a truly unique fellowship established with the generous donation of the late Branco Weiss. ETH Zurich hosts this pestigious program that provides a granted funding of CHF 100’000/year for selected postdocs throughout the world for up to five years.
The fellowship is international and trans-disciplinary in nature. It is open to postdocs with outstanding qualities who are pursuing unusual projects on the frontiers between society and science. Fellows are free to choose their host institution among the top universities worldwide. Once a year a symposium is held at ETH Zurich to bring together all fellows.
You are eligible for the 2016 campaign if:
- You officially hold a PhD on January 15, 2017
- Your project departs from the mainstream of research in your discipline
- You have a record of outstanding scientific achievement
- You demonstrate in the proposal a willingness to engage in a dialogue on relevant social, cultural, political or economic issues across the frontiers of your particular discipline
Simply apply with a groundbreaking research idea to secure financial support for up to five years, working at an academic institution of your choice anywhere in the world.
