Call for application: Klaus Tschira Boost Fund for postdoctoral researchers

The German Scholars Organization e.V. (GSO) and the Klaus Tschira Foundation are pleased to announce the fifth round of the Klaus Tschira Boost Fund.

The Klaus Tschira Boost Fund supports and strengthens excellent researchers in Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science by providing:

Flexible funding to create an environment for independent, high-risk, interdisciplinary projects;
Support in building up (international) collaborations and networks;
Targeted mentoring and coaching on issues of professional and personal development.

The program addresses Postdoctoral Researchers who:

are employed in a higher education institution (university, Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften) or a non-university research institution in Germany;
conduct research in one of the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Neurosciences or Physics;
are not already funded by a junior research group program (e.g. Emmy Noether, ERC Starting Grant or others).

It is possible to apply for funding up to 80,000, for a period of up to two years. In principle, funding can be used for all types of costs; no more than 75 percent of the funds may be used to cover (parts of) the fellow’s own salary. In addition, fellows are eligible to become members of the alumni network AlumNode, which offers access to intensive knowledge transfer, promotion of individual projects, peer mentoring as well as various advisory and professional development opportunities. In 2023, 15 postdoctoral fellows will be funded.
