Fraunhofer Attract Research grant for outstanding Postdocs: apply now!
The Fraunhofer Attract grant is the excellence stipend programme of Fraunhofer that gives researchers the chance to head their own research group, taking responsibility for budgets and personnel.
Fraunhofer Attract invites outstanding researchers to develop their ideas towards innovations at Fraunhofer.
The grant offers outstanding external scientists the opportunity to develop their ideas towards an actual application within an optimally equipped Fraunhofer institute operating close to the market. The scientist will be offered a budget of 2.5 Million Euro over 5 years to lead a group of 3-5 co-workers. Funding will be allocated to creative project ideas that show a high degree of innovation, outstanding exploitation potential and a perfect fit with institute strategy.
Through its funding programme, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft supports external researchers wishing to work closely with industry with a view to turning their findings into practical applications. Fraunhofer currently runs 76 institutes and research institutions in Germany.
Requirements for applicants include the following:
- Outstanding scientists in the postdoc phase and application-oriented researchers from industry and business.
- A project idea that shows a high degree of innovation and very good utilisation potential and that would be an excellent match with the strategy of a Fraunhofer institute.
- Joint application with the head of a Fraunhofer institute.
The next round of applications closes on March 08th, 2023. New projects will start in June 2023. Successful candidated will be notified by May 2023.
