Friedrich Naumann Foundation: Scholarships for doctoral students
Are you looking for funding to realise your doctoral project? Do your previous study and examination achievements demonstrate a special ability with regard to academic work? Is your work making a significant contribution to research? Then become a doctoral scholarship holder of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom!
The program supports doctoral candidates from Germany as well as international candidates. The foundation supports around 150 doctoral students from all disciplines annually, who are working on a convincing and innovative research project and have been admitted to a doctoral program at a university.
You can apply online twice per year, from April 1- 30 and from October 1 – 31. The next application deadline is October 31, at 11:59 pm.
The selection process consists of four steps:
- The online application process through the application portal of the foundation.
- The pre-selection based on three equally important criteria (academic performance, strong personality, visible commitment).
- The selection conference, in which applicants have a one-on-one interview with the members of the independent selection committee, which consists of people from business, politics, science, and research.
- The final decision for admission.
