FAUnext4all: Prof. Dr. Matthias Braun, University of Bonn – „My way from Postdoc to Professorship“
The team of the FAUnext career program is glad to invite you to the first talk of our brand new FAUnext4all series!
In a highly informal context, “role models” of the FAU and FAU alumni give talks on topics of interest for our target group, early career researchers at FAU namely postdoctoral researchers, junior research group leaders and junior professors. The 45-minute-talks are highly interactive and participants will have the opportunity to pose their questions and directly communicate with our speakers. All talks will take place in English – unless decided otherwise among participants – and online via Zoom.

On October 26, at 1 p.m. we are happy to welcome an alumnus of FAU and our FAUnext career program, Professor Dr. Matthias Braun, for a talk on the topic:
“My way from Postdoc to Professorship”
After studying biology and Protestant theology, Professor Dr. Matthias Braun conducted research as part of the “MaxSynBio” excellence project jointly funded by the Max Planck Society and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and was Research Fellow at the University of Bergen, Maastricht University and the University of Oxford. Until September 2022, he led the junior research group „Ethics and Governance of New Technologies“ at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. Since 2022, he has been full Professor for Social Ethics and Ethics of Emerging Technologies at the University of Bonn. In 2022, he has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant (2023-2028).
