Erasmus+BIP: Course on Doctoral Education

Objective

The aim of this course is to offer PhD students an insight to successfully live through their doctoral experience and get the most of their PhD to become an independent researcher. Participants will talk about the tools, among others, to manage their project and their research education, to maintain a good collaboration with their supervisors, to face and solve possible problems, to write and defense their theses, and to reflect critically on career options and on the development of soft skills to better develop their professional careers. The various sessions will address some hot topics of doctoral education like research ethics, the use of artificial intelligence, the paradigm of open science or the interaction between research and society.

Methodology

Combination of short presentations with interactive exercises performed by the candidates working in groups or in round tables, always interacting with the trainers.

Target audience

PhD researchers in the 1st or 2nd year of their doctorate, although more advanced candidates are also admitted and will benefit from participating in the course.
