Horizon 2020: ERC opens its 2016 grant competitions

Der Europäische Forschungsrat hat das Arbeitsprogramm für die für die Ausschreibungsrunde 2016 veröffentlicht. Der ERC (European Research Council) fördert im Arbeitsprogramm 2016 mit 1,67 Milliarden Euro exzellente Forschende mit bahnbrechenden Projekten aus allen Wissenschaftsbereichen.
Der Zeitplan der drei Förderlinien sieht wie folgt aus:
- Ausschreibung für Starting Grants (2 bis 7 Jahre nach Promotion): offen; deadline: 17. November 2015
- Ausschreibung für Consolidator Grants (7 bis 12 Jahre nach Promotion): öffnet am 15. Oktober 2015; deadline: 2. Februar 2016
- Ausschreibung für die prestigeträchtigen Advanced Grants: öffnet am 24. Mai 2016; deadline: 1. September 2016
- ERC Grantees mit laufendem oder abgeschlossenem Projekt können sich für die Förderlinie Proof of Concept bewerben, die am 22. Oktober 2015 öffnet.

The European Research Council published the Work Programme 2016. The programme foresees €1.67 billion for grants to top researchers from anywhere in the world who are ready to come or stay in Europe to pursue their breakthrough ideas.
The timetable for the new series of grant competitions according to the work programme’s calendar:
- Call for Starting Grants (for researchers with 2 to 7 years of experience since completion of PhD and a promising scientific track record): open with the deadline of 17 November 2015.
- Call for Consolidator Grants (for mid-career researchers with 7 to 12 years of experience since completion of PhD): opens on 15 October 2015 with the deadline of 2 February 2016
- Call for Advanced Grants (for established research leaders): opens on 24 May 2016 with the deadline of 1 September 2016
- Call for Proof of Concept Grants (a top-up scheme to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC-funded projects, for ERC grant holders): opens on 22 October 2015.
