Aventis Foundation Life Sciences Bridge Award 2023: ab 01.03. bewerben | application starts on 01.03.!
Seit 2019 vergibt die Aventis Foundation jährlich ihren mit je 100.000€ dotierten „Life Sciences Bridge Award“ an drei junge Wissenschaftler*innen aus den Lebenswissenschaften (Biologie, Biochemie, Chemie, Medizin, Pharmazie, auch in Kombination mit Mathematik oder Informatik), um sie gezielt auf ihrem Karriereweg zu einer Professur zu unterstützen.
Ausgezeichnet werden promovierte Akademiker*innen min. 3 Jahre nach der Promotion, z.B. Forschungsgruppenleiter*innen, Juniorprofessor*innen oder Tenure-Track Professor*innen, die eine akademische Karriere anstreben aber noch keine unbefristete Professur innenhaben.
Zugelassen sind Selbstbewerbungen aus den forschungsstärkesten deutschen Universitäten. Die Preisträger erhalten 10% des Preisgeldes als persönliche Auszeichnung; 90% der Mittel stehen den Preisträgern im Rahmen ihrer Forschungsarbeiten für Personal- und Sachkosten zur Verfügung.
Die Bewerbungsphase läuft vom 01.03. bis 30.04.2023.

Since 2019, the Aventis Foundation has awarded three young scientists from the field of life sciences (biochemistry, biology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacology, also in combination with mathematics and informatics) with the „Life Sciences Bridge Award“ for postdoctoral researchers, to help them successfully establish themselves in their academic field, pursue innovative approaches and boost their chances of gaining a full professorship.
The three awards are endowed with an amount of €100,000 each, 10% of which may be used as personal income, while the rest 90% can be used for research-related purposes e.g. staff salaries or equipment.
The awards will be given to young academics three years after the acquisition of their doctorate degree the earliest, e.g. research group leaders, junior professors and tenure- track-professors or research group leaders who aim for an academic career but do not yet hold full and permanent professorships.
