New Publication on Danube macro-region online: Early career paper in Regional Science, Regional Studies

The new issue of Regional Science, Regional Studies contains a short article in the Early Career Section of Franziska Sielker. The open access journal from the Regional Studies Association has a section specifically devoted to young academics offering a mentored publication process.

The article „New approaches in European governance? Perspectives of stakeholders in the Danube macro-region“ identifies the drivers for stakeholders‘ commitment in the EU Danube Region Strategy. The article concludes that stakeholders value the adjustability of macro-regional governance arrangements, the opportunities for negotiation whilst simultaneously offering the political ability to act and pursue projects of implementation. The evidence presented suggests that multilevel governance in the EU is becoming increasingly complex, embracing more and different types of cooperation, with soft characteristics as crucial elements.
